Air cooled chiller

In terms of placement, a distinction is made between outdoor and indoor (also known as ducted) chillers. Outdoor chillers are usually fitted with axial fans, while their indoor counterparts are made with higher pressure (eg centrifugal) fans. The latter are usually used in case of lack of outdoor space.
According to the principle of operation, we distinguish between standard and free-cooling chillers. Free cooling chillers are used in areas of technology that require cooling 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. These applications can be used to cool the liquid with the help of outdoor air temperature during the winter and during the transitional seasons (spring, autumn). Generally 80-90% of the power consumption of any air conditioner is provided by the compressor. When the chillers is cooling with outdoor air, the compressor can be switched off, resulting in very significant energy savings during these periods.

The GWP shows the amount of CO2 equivalent to the test substance in the greenhouse effect over 100 years (kgCO2 / kg). The lower the number, the less potent the greenhouse effect.

Ozone depletion is indicated by the ODP value (Ozone Depletion Potential), which can be between 0 and 1.
